Old Strathcona Farmers' Market : ウィキペディア英語版 | Old Strathcona Farmers' Market
The Old Strathcona Farmers' Market is a weekly market in the historic Old Strathcona district of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is located just off of the most well-known entertainment district in Edmonton, Whyte Avenue.〔http://oldstrathcona.ca/〕 The market began in 1983 in the parking lot on the corner of 83rd Ave and 103rd Street (now the location of free customer parking), outdoors with only 10-15 vendors selling a small variety of garden products, baking and crafts. In 1986 vendors moved inside to the 'Old Bus Barns' on Saturdays. The market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is Edmonton's largest indoor year-round market. There are over 130 vendors every Saturday; roughly 80% of whom offer agricultural and food products and 20% craft products. All vendors go through a strict jury process, and no re-sale is allowed. The market receives an average of 10,000 visitors every Saturday.〔http://osfm.ca/〕 The market is operated by a non-profit organization, the Old Strathcona Farmers' Market Society. The market is run mostly by volunteers with a small number of paid staff including current Executive Director, Stephanie Szakacs. ==References== 〔
